Today, why not enjoy a twilight stroll?
Wrap up warm and take a torch to light the way. If you don’t have a torch, your phone’s torch works just as well. Your little one might spot some night-time creatures, like foxes, owls, cats or starlings. If you’re lucky, there may be few clouds in the sky, which means your little one might spot some stars.
Then, when you’re home, why not burn off any remaining energy with a game of ‘Torch Light Catch’? This fun game mixes ‘Hide and Seek’ with ‘Catch’ and is played in the dark.
The person who is ‘it’ (the catcher) counts, whilst everyone else finds somewhere in the same room to hide. Then using a torch, the catcher stands in the middle of the room and searches for the others, moving the beam of light around the room, trying to shine the light on someone. When they do spot someone, the catcher must shout out their name, and then that person becomes ‘it’.
